To raise public awareness especially amongst women and decision makers
on gender gaps, issues, development needs as well as advocate and lobby
for women’s empowerment.

This is done through the following:

production of material and school
competitions

quarterly newsletter named, Ke Nako

amendment of laws relevent to women's
issues

press and radio exposure

participating in
Sub-regioanl, Regional and International events

2.
To collect and disseminate information of relevance and use for
women’s empowerment.

|
Information ranging from gender issues to training brochures
are collected and disseminated to the Coalition’s members for their use.
At times the information is re-packaged.

3.
To facilitate networking amongst member organisations to promote
effective collaboration and coordination of activities.
|
|
This can be achieved by looking at NGO/CBO policy
formulation, in attending workshops and advocating and lobbying on
common issues.
|
|
4.
To provide a focal point for addressing gender issues at national,
sub-regional and International level.
|
|
Members have participated in various programs and
workshops locally, nationally and internationally to address gender
issues. Also it is vital that the Coalition undertake research to increase
the Coalition’s information and data collection.

5.
To strengthen the Capacity of Member organisations so as to ensure
efficient service delivery.
|
|
Training workshops are conducted in order to increase
the knowledge of the Members on various issues surrounding violence and
also facilitate in developing networks among the Members. Training is also
conducted in E-mail and Internet usage. Finally members are trained on
governance and leadership.

6.
Emergency Response system.

|
The Coalition will participate
in lobbying and advocating for a particular issue or
group of people in an emergency situation.
|
